July 2022 News

What we have been up to

Our autism-specific camp was held in July over three days we had activities that included arts and crafts, Lego wall and building, outdoor play, sensory games, movement, pet farm and of course the ice cream van. The children were encouraged to engage with volunteers and their peers to develop communication, coordination and turn-taking skills, This was held at our centre on the Ballysimon Road Limerick which has been developed to be a safe and non-judgmental space.

What’s happening next month

We are running the summer camp again.  However, we are fully booked and the waiting list is full too.  We can provide extra places if we can get volunteers to help on the day.  The August dates are 16th 17th and 18th.  If you can spare some time between 10am and 12.30pm, then get in touch.  We desperately need more volunteers.

Request for help

We had a lady contact us about a laptop for her son. Her application for additional needs payments was not accepted.  If you have an old laptop and can donate it, we can recondition it and pass it on.  It doesn’t matter if its slow, we can upgrade.  It just needs to work.  If we get more than one offer, we can offer them out to others.  Just get in touch and drop off the equipment to our premises on Ballysimon Road.
