Family support

Start with one thing. We'll help with the rest.

Every service below is run by volunteers who have sat where you are sitting. If you are not sure which one you need, call the free information line and talk it through.

Activity camps

Summer and mid-term camps designed specifically for autistic children, run by volunteers who know the drill, so the whole family gets the break.

  • Small groups, predictable routine, a quiet space always available.
  • Booked through the ASD Ireland app.

Movement groups

Weekly movement sessions built around sensory needs rather than performance. Nobody is asked to keep up. Over 60 children supported each week.

  • Low noise, low light, no whistles.
  • Designed to support children to develop balance, coordination, peer-to-peer interactions, turn-taking skills and communication.
  • Places are allocated on a first come, first served basis.
  • Tuesday 6–6:45pm, Thursday 4:30–5:15pm & 5:30–6:15pm, Saturday 10:15–11am, 11:15am–12pm, 12:15–1pm.

Parents and carers

Counselling for parents

Talking to somebody who already understands autism, so you do not spend the first three sessions explaining it.

  • Subsidised sessions, arranged through the charity.
  • We will tell you who you would be seeing and where they are registered before anything is booked.

ASD Ireland is an amazing organisation and their support for my family has been life-changing.
